SmartCAM v2023 Element Data
SmartCAM v2023 Element Data

For v2023 many improvements to the useability and capability of Element Data function have been implemented to improve the user's ability to access and leverage the Element Data information.

Element Data Find

Element Data Find enables a user to find element records in Element Data that contain text or numbers that match a specified pattern specified in the Find: field at the top of the Element Data display. The pattern can contain 'wildcard' characters to make the search more general. The associated up and down arrows can be used to jump to the next or previous element records that have matching content.

For example:

  • The user can enter "X= 4" and find element records that have an X value that begins with 4.
  • The user can also select from the drop down that contains the last 5 patterns from the current session.

View Filters

View Filters can now be set up and applied to Element Data so you can restrict what you see displayed. From the View Filters window, you can configure whether or not to display Toolpath, Wireframe, or Surfaces, and also opt to show or hide Masked and Hidden geometry. This allows you to limit what Element Data shows, in order to more quickly evaluate just the geometry that you are currently interested in.

Element Data Copy

Right-click on an element, in Element Data, to open a pop-up menu. This menu provides options to copy the currently highlighted line, all of the currently highlighted element's display data or copy the entire contents of Element Data to the Windows clipboard. This is text data, the displayed data, which can be pasted into any text editor.

When creating or modifying a Markup Note, you can type or paste in a path and filename, for a file on your system, or a web address for a web page. This information will be stored with the markup note. The associated link is shown in Element Data and can be added, edited, or removed when modifying an existing Markup Note.

When using Browse Markup Notes a Launch button will be available, if there is a Link. When this button is used your associated link will be launched. If the link is a file, SmartCAM will send the file to Window's File Association launcher. What ever the default editor for the link's File Extension, will be used to open the linked file. If the link is a web address, it will open the address in your default web browser.
