Like us, you have always wanted to make the Group Palette icons bigger, right?

Well now you can.

A new Group Toolbar replaces the previous Group Palette, providing the benefit of conformity with the same controls that are available for other toolbars: the Group Toolbar can be floated and resized, docked vertically or horizontally in a preferred position in the application, and uses the same button size settings as other SmartCAM toolbars.

We have come to really rate the Group Toolbar during our testing, and the fact that we can place it wherever we want.

Here is a small improvement we think you might like, that can reduce mouse movement when driving SmartCAM.

Relevant input fields in the SmartCAM user interface have been enhanced by the addition of an ‘Input Field Pick List’ next to the field, which can be used to select input from data already existing in the model with significantly reduced mouse movement than previously.

Examples are Element, CAD Layer and CAM Process STEP selection. Any set List View Filters are applied to the data available.

Previously always displayed at the bottom-right corner of the SmartCAM Graphics View, user interface Control Panels can now additionally be docked top-right, top-left or bottom-left, providing more interface preference control to SmartCAM users.

We’ve let loose the Insert Bar.

Adding to the SmartCAM Insert Bar positioning controls that were enabled in the previous release, Version 2015 supports a Float setting for the Insert Bar.

The Insert bar is one of the primary interface components of SmartCAM, it can now be placed anywhere on the desktop.

This can be especially beneficial when using a dual-monitor setup, because the primary monitor could be dedicated to the graphics view if required.

SmartCAM users are adept at using Shift+F1 to access help information, but we've made it easier with the addition of Help and Close buttons on Dialog Box title bars in the SmartCAM User Interface.

It's a minor change, but it also delivers improved conformity with other Windows applications.

We all make mistakes sometimes. Like you, we didn’t appreciate having to look up the extended information when an error or warning message got displayed.

So we added a Help Button to the error and warning message boxes, enabling simpler and more direct access to further detail regarding the condition than in previous versions.

If open Dialog windows are shifted in position by the user in the SmartCAM user interface, the new position is used for subsequent display of the window. Default positional behavior for either All or for the Current window can be reset using a new Utility > Dialog Positions command.

This enables easier resetting of Dialog window positions in the event of unsuitable positioning.

A new Toolbar Scroll Button can be used to display toolbar icons that do not appear on the toolbar because of limited screen space or size.

Previously simply truncated, the scroll button can be used to scroll through the additional available icons, paging to the icons at the beginning of the toolbar when the end of the toolbar content is reached.
