About Point Snap and Free Coordinates Modes

Point Snap Mode

As you create geometry, you can use points on existing geometry to define coordinate position, distance, length, or angle as entries to input fields.

The Point Snap buttons at the lower right corner of the SmartCAM window enable the ability to use specific selection pointsClosed Geometry points that can be picked to pass coordinate values to SmartCAM functions such as input fields in control panels..

Snap to Endpoint button Endpoint enables snap points at the start and endpoints of all elements.
Snap to Midpoint Button Midpoint enables snap points at the midpoint of all elements except for polylines and splines.
centerpoint Snap Icon Centerpoint enables snap points at the centerpoint of all arc elements.
Intersection Point Snap Icon Intersection Point enables snap points at each intersection of lines or arcs.
Control point Snap Icon Control Point enables snap points at each control point on a spline or polyline element.

Free Coordinates Mode

Next to the Point Snap buttons is the Free Coordinates mode button Free Coordinate Mode Button. When Free Coordinates is enabled you can click in any location in the graphics view to specify coordinates. You can use Point Snap and Free coordinates modes together by enabling both Point Snap buttons and the Free Coordinates button.
